Beatrice Mary Gagnon was born on July 2, 1928 in Wright County, Minnesota. Her parents were Joseph and Albina Antil. She grew up in Maple Lake, Minnesota. She married Lawrence Anthony Gagnon on April 22, 1947. In this union their were 8 children: Steve, Kay, Colleen, JoAnn, Mike, Ann, Mary, and Patty.A Rosary will be recited at 8:30 A.M. Thursday, morning, November 21st at the Church.
Further visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:45 A.M. at the Church.
Our Beloved Mother, Beatrice (Bea) M Gagnon, age 91 of Waverly, MN passed away peacefully on November 13, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Howard Lake.
Bea was born on July 2, 1928 in Maple Lake, Mn to Joseph & Albina (Morin) Antil. She grew up on the south side of Lake Ramsey with 6 brothers; Victor, James, Arthur, Larry, Jerry, Frank and 2 sisters; Ursula (Sue) Perra and Theresa (Tess) Guggemos. As a young girl she loved to read, swim, ice skate and dance. Bea worked at Dirck’s Grocery Store in Maple Lake as a Cashier from 8th to 12th grade after school and on Saturdays. After graduation she worked for the Maple Lake Drug Store until she got married. She was baptized and confirmed at St Timothy’s Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Bea graduated from Maple Lake HS in 1946.
On April 22, 1947 Bea was united in marriage to Lawrence (Pete) Gagnon (from Waverly) at St Timothy’s Catholic Church in Maple Lake by Father O’Brien. They were married 59 years before Pete’s death in 2006 and lived on the Gagnon Homestead in Wright County. God blessed this union with 8 children: Steve (Gunner), Kay, Colleen, JoAnn, Mike, Ann, Mary & Patty.
She loved flowers, gardening, canning, baking bread every Sat., playing cards, visiting family/friends, bus trips and shopping! She was a great cook and loved having family & friends over for Holidays. Saturday night she was always ready for wedding dances in Waverly or at the Blue Note in Winsted. Bea loved when family came home and her grandchildren would visit. Bea worked part-time at New Beginnings as a cook.
She was a faithful member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Always ready to help volunteer for the church’s many activities including teaching religion, communion minister, lector, adorer, circle chair, bible studies and a member of the social ministry committee.
Bea is survived by her sons, Steve (Judy) Gagnon, Mike (Wanda) Gagnon and daughters, Kay Gagnon, Colleen (Jim) Kimberly, JoAnn (Rory) Ostgulen, Ann (Mark) Wackler, Mary Pettit & Patty (Jeff) Lehner: 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren: sister Tess Guggemos and sister-in-law’s; Carol Gagnon(NJ) and Jean Antil(ND). She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, 1 sister and a great grandson Evan LaCroix.
Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am Thursday, November 21st. Visitation Wednesday, November 20, 4-7 PM. Thursday Rosary at 8:30 am and visitation from 9-10:45 am. All at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Waverly, MN.
