"Theresa B. "Tess" Lieb, (nee Zagorsky), age 84 of Lorain, died Thursday July 12, 2007 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Lieb was born in Lorain on January 15, 1923 and remained a life-long resident of the city.

A graduate of Lorain High School, Mrs. Lieb was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. She served as a photo lab technician attached to the 16th Photo Squadron; she was the recipient of the American Service medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the WAAC Service Ribbon. She was a life member of Mullen-Murray Post # 451 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lorain.

For a number of years she served as the proprietor of Tessie's Kandy Korner which was formerly located at the corner of 23rd and Broadway. She later served for more than twenty-seven years as the kitchen manager of the Polish American Citizens Club where she was instrumental in coordinating the club's weekly fish fry and various banquet events.

She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church who enjoyed taking junkets to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Additional interests included spending time with her grandchildren as well as attending bingo sessions throughout the city.

Survivors include her sons Ronald L. Lieb and Dale L. Lieb both of Lorain, step-daughter Tamara Yeager of Las Vegas, Nevada, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren, and a sister Irene Ferner of Elyria.

She was preceded in death by her husband Brendon B. Lieb in 1986, by her parents Andrew and Josephine (nee Scepankiewicz) Zagorsky, by brothers Joseph, Frank, Edward, Alex, Stanley, and Floyd, and by sisters Helen Hendry, Virginia Limes, and Mary Stitak.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend David A. Novak, Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain where joint military honors will be conducted by the officers and members of Mullen-Murray Post # 451 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post # 30 both of Lorain."
