Marvin V Albers, 68, of Hildreth died on Sunday, December 29, 1996 at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln.

Marvin was born on August 7, 1928 in Hildreth to Ralph and Anna (Hemje) Albers. He was baptized and confirmed at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church south of Hildreth and grew up in the Hildreth area.

Marvin graduated from Hildreth High School and married Donna Jurgens in 1951. To this union were born five children. He served in the U. S. Air Force for four years. He was stationed at Warren Air Forces Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They returned to the Hildreth area where they farmed. Later Marvin married Kay Frances Hughes 18 August 1979 at Hildreth.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church south of Hildreth, Hildreth VFW and the Hildreth Lions Club. Jelden-Layton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Larry Albers and his Dee of Lincoln; Lonnie Albers and his wife, Jodelle of Lincoln and Kim Albers and his wife, Elaine of Hickory, North Carolina; 2 daughters, Shelia Sierk and her husband Dennis of Huntsville, Alabama; and Sonia Dohmen and her husband, Doug of Pacific Palisades, California; 12 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 brother, Ralph Albers Jr. of Hildreth and 1 sister, Evelyn Stratman of Hildreth. He is preceded in death by 1 brother.

Funeral services were held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church south of Hildreth on Thursday January 2, 1997 at 11:00a.m. with the Reverend John Erlandson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Hildreth Lions Club.
