David Watson, age 94, of Deerfield Road, Boone, died November 4, 2019, at Pine Lake Nursing Care Center in Carthage, North Carolina. David was born April 20, 1925 in Watauga County. He was a retired security guard for IRC/TRW in Boone and served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by one son, Dale Watson and wife Ann of Carthage, North Carolina. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren, an a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Hampton Watson; one daughter, Gail Ann Wilder; five brothers, Arnold, Russeau Ottis, Doc, and Lenney Watson, and three sisters, Jewel Watson, Ruby Watson, and Ethel Thomas.
Graveside services and burial at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Gary Watson.
