Mrs. Ida M. Wray Dies at Hospital
Funeral Services Set for Thursday
Death came to one of the well-known women of the Hopewell community Monday night at 8:45 o'clock, when Mrs. Ida May Wray, wife of William Wray, died in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wray had been ill for three years and had been a patient in the local hospital several times as well as at an Indianapolis hospital. Her condition had been critical for several weeks.
Funeral services have been set for 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Flinn and Maguire funeral home. The Rev. Jack Masters, pastor of the Hopewell church, will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery at Edinburg.
Calling Hours Set
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 2 until 3 o'clock, in the evening from 7 to 9 and on Thursday until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.
Mrs. Wray was the daughter of the late John and Matilda Hanks Wirey and was born in Brown County on March 7, 1880.
On the 31st of December, 1902, she and Mr. Wray were married in Brown County. A son was born to them. In 1916 they moved to Bartholomew County and for the past 22 years they had resided on a farm in the Hopewell community west of Whiteland.
Mrs. Wray first united with the New Bethel Christian Church and after moving to Hopewell, she transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church there.
The survivors are the husband, her son, Lawrence Wray, of Hopewell; two grandchildren, Mary Jane and Max Wray; and a brother, L. A. Wirey, of Franklin.
