Ellen A. Shanks, 86, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord, October 30, 2019. She was born February 12, 1933 in Oldham, South Dakota to the late Christopher E. and Ruth A. Aaland.
Ellen was a registered nurse for Community East Hospital for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1963 where she played in the Praise Band for 25 years.
Ellen is survived by her children, Janet (Jim) Higgs and Barbara (Keith) Coleman, Jo Ann Shanks and Robin Werner (Mary Jane); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A grandson, James Coleman; and nine siblings preceded her in death.
