Mrs. Jane D. McDonald, formerly of Randolph County, Ills., died April 11th of paralysis, at her home with her daughter, Mrs. R. G. Baird, near Central City.
The deceased was born in Ireland May 12, 1808, came to this country with her parents when six weeks old. Her maiden name was McClellan. She was married to Wm. M. McDonald in 1825. After living a short time in South Carolina and Kentucky she moved to Illinois, where she lived about fifty years and raised her family of six sons and six daughters to manhood and womanhood, eight of whom survive her.
She moved to Nebraska six years ago to make her home with her daughters, all of whom were at her bedside when she died. She connected herself with the Associate Reform Church at an early age, and at the time of her death was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church. (Poem followed.)
