Son of Theodule Langlois and Dorcina Piche, Husband of Eugenie Proulx. With the outbreak of World War Two, Roland would chose to serve his country and enlist into the Canadian Army where he would be assigned as a Private in Les Fusiliers Mont Royal. He would be with his regiment when they landed at White Beach in the August 19, 1942 raid on the French port of Dieppe. Originally listed as missing in action in the disasterous battle, Roland was taken prisoner by the German Army and would remain a POW until 1943 when he was finally released and sent back to Montreal.
