Mr. Delp was born here, in Grayson County, August 8, 1881, to the late Michael Delp and wife, Mrs. Jane Comer Delp.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Laura Hackler Delp; seven daughters, Mrs. Janie Jones, Miss Nell Delp, Miss Dorothy Delp, Miss Clara Delp and Miss Janet Delp, all of Comers Rock; Mrs. Irene Hawks, Whiteford, Md., and Mrs. Anna Lee Hall, Whiteford, Md.; five sons, Claude Delp and Straley Delp, both of Elk Creek, and Wilbur Delp, Howard Delp and Clark Delp, all of Comers Rock, and five grandsons.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Mt. Zion Methodist Church by the Rev. T. Joe Burris, Methodist, and the Rev. Fred E. Jennings, Baptist.
Interment was in Comers Rock Cemetery.
The body was removed at 2:00 p.m. Saturday from Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, to the residence, where it rested until time for removal to be placed in the church one hour before the services.
