Passed away suddenly early Thursday morning at Borgess Hospital. Mr. Baker was born June 1, 1914, in Augusta, son of Clyde and Gladys Ritter Baker and lived in the Augusta-Delton area his entire life. He had been employed for the past 27 years at the Brown Co., Parchment. He was married to Geraldine Garvin, July 31, 1954, in Augusta, who survives. Also surviving are 7 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Leslie, Mrs. Ronald (Mona) Smith, Mrs. Gordon (Sarah) Nelson, all of Kalamazoo, Mrs. David (Mary) Worden, Richland, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Cassel, Fulton, Mrs. Kenneth (Karen) Mann, Hastings, Mrs. Estell-Marie Brooks, Kalamazoo; 5 sons, Frederick J. Baker, Rotterdam, N.Y., Richard J. Miller, Louisville, Ky., Vincent D. Miller, at home, Eugene E. Miller, Delton, William F. Baker Jr., Miami, Fla.; 35 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hawks, Battle Creek; his step-mother, Mrs. Sadie M. Baker, Kalamazoo. Friends are being received at the Williams Funeral Home, where services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Harold Hoppe officiating. Interment in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
