Leora Earlene Crum Absher
(April 29, 1942 ~ July 26, 2013)
29 April 1942 – 26 July 2013

***

Earlene Absher died 26 July 2013 in Reno, Nevada. She was born 29 April 1942 in Safford, Arizona.

The fifth of sixth children, she was raised by a single mother. She attended high school in Quapaw, Oklahoma, and was the first child in her family to graduate. She attended college in Kentucky and Nevada.

Earlene married Terrence Kingsley Absher during July 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma. She and her husband moved to Reno in 1963.

In 1972 she joined the LDS Church. She worked as a telephone receptionist until she became a mother, at which time she stayed at home for fifteen years raising three children. She then returned to work at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she worked for over twenty years. She eventually became the office administrator for the Electrical Engineering Department, within the College of Engineering. Her other great loves in life were classical music, playing the piano, science fiction, old movies, and cooking world cuisines.

She was survived by her husband of just over fifty-two years, three children, and two grandchildren, as well as a brother in Riverton, Kansas, and one in Reno.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Winston Earl Crum, Sr., and Lillie Fern Wood, as well as by three of her siblings, Bill Martin, Dixie Johnston, and Jim Martin. [Edited from Reno Gazette-Journal, Friday, 2 August 2013, as added via duplicate memorial merge.]

Note: I did Earlene without a cemetery. I lost her through a merge. I appreciate L McKeown transferring her back to me when I asked.
