George Lloyd Butler, 88, of Pine Bluffs died Sept. 1 in the comfort of his home.

He was born July 10, 1931, in Kimball, Neb. George was a war veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He was a pilot and farmer, but most of all, a family man.

After the service, George returned home where he married the love of his life, Darline Fritz. They shared 65 years together.

He is survived by his wife, Darline Butler; daughter, Kim Abe (Leonard); daughter-in-law, Julie Butler; two granddaughters, Natacha Gaspar (Dustin) and Callie Abe (Bobb); and six great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Jesse, Johnna, Jett, Babe and Sammy.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Richard and Scott Butler; his parents, Clayton and Mae Butler; and seven siblings.
