Donald Trammell, who enjoyed camping and was a park host for seven years, died Monday, May 8, 2000, in Camas. He was 73.
A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Camas. His body will be cremated and inurnment will be in Dayton, Ore. Straub's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Trammell was born July 31, 1926, in Coal Camp, Utah. He moved to Camas in 1969.
He worked in the Portland shipyards during World War II. He was a veteran of the National Guard in Idaho.
Mr. Trammell worked at the old Crown Zellerbach paper mill in Camas for 20 years.
He was a member of First Christian Church, the North Bank Masonic Lodge in Washougal and Klan Donnachaidh of the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Trammell was also an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife, Lila, at home; two stepdaughters, Ernestine Mathot of Moscow, Idaho, and Janet Norden of La Center; three stepsons, Lyle Sanders of Camas, Leslie Sanders of Salem and Robert Sanders of California; five brothers, Neil Trammell of Wenatchee, Smith of Newport, Ore., Kenneth of Philomath, Ore., Keith of California and Ted of McMinnville, Ore.; three sisters, Delores Ellis of Gladstone, Rosa Hill of Newberg, Ore., and Debi Corr of Seattle; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
