Roger Carter, 79, of Cobbtown passed away early Friday morning, August 30, 2019 at Oceanside Health and Rehabilitation on Tybee Island.

Born in Cobbtown, he was a son of J.W. Carter and Lora Kicklighter Carter. Mr. Carter was an Electrician and Contractor having been self-employed. He was a member of the Metter United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Trent Sikes.

Surviving are his sons, Joey Carter of Metter and Paul Carter of Green Bay, Wisconsin; his daughter, Cindy Sikes (Johnny) of Hagan; two sisters, Marion Davis of Jacksonville and Eunice Collins of Cobbtown; a granddaughter, Lindsey Sikes of Statesboro; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 o’clock until the funeral hour.

Interment will be in Sunlight Cemetery.
