Mary Kathryn "Ma" Wall, 88, of Linden, Texas departed this life and entered into her eternal home on August 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Wall was born August 21, 1931 in Jefferson, Texas to Leslie Foster and Reathie Ryan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete Wall; brothers and sisters, Roat, Howard, Josephine, Leslie Joe, Linda Jean, L.H. and Myrtle.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the Centerhill Baptist Church with Bro. Donald Sheffield officiating. Burial to follow in the Huffines Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Aunt Kathryn was the glue who held the family together. The second Saturday of each December we had The Foster Christmas Gathering at her home. Across the drive from her house was a wood shop with a half kitchen. In the beginning Kathryn set ply boards across saw horses and threw a table cloth over it to be a table. As the years passed she acquired real tables and chairs, or benches. Each had a pretty table cloth with a center piece. Soup or chili was the main course along with desserts and other treats. We passed out homemade or gag gifts. The room was always loud with laughter and voices. Sometimes there were songs sang with guitar music. Lots of stories told. Aunt Kathryn always greeted you with a smile. Before you left in the evening she made sure we would meet at the same place next year. If a family member was sick she always managed a way to get to the hospital or nursing home to visit. Family was important to her. She was so full of spunk and energy. Her heart was always with our Lord and Savior. There is no doubt that heaven gained another angel. She will always be loved and forever in our hearts. - Brynda
