Leslie Joe Foster was the only sibling to graduate from High School , which occurred at Jefferson, Texas. After he graduated he went to New Mexico to stay with his Uncle Dan Ryan in order to go to seminary school. I'm not sure he ever completed this task, because he soon came back home to Texas. He lived with his parents and when they moved to Minden, Louisiana he moved along with them. His life was a bit shaky for a while. After his divorce from Emily Turner, Joe began drinking. He wrecked his car while intoxicated to the severity that he almost lost his life. His car was left on the side of the road with a sign placed near it that read, "Don't let this happen to you!" Joe was crippled but managed to get his life back in order. He met Maxine and it seems from stories that we've been told she got him back on track with the Lord. He began pastoring at a Baptist church in Shreveport, Louisiana. He became a locksmith as well. After Maxine died he met Sherran. They were married and he continued to pastor his church in Shreveport. Joe loved fishing as a young man. He had many stories he shared about those escapades . Some of the hardest things in life for him was to preach his father and siblings funerals. He tried so hard not to break down, but because of his tender heart it was so hard for him at times. His laugh was the same as his dad, Les Foster. They even favored. You could hear him across the room when he laughed or spoke up. Joe will forever be in our hearts, because he was a kind and loving man. He said before he died that he was ready to go to meet his Lord. I have no doubt that he did just that.
