Funeral service for Anetta M. Rasch, 89, of Ashley will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley. The Rev. Linda J. Schauer will officiate.

Anetta died January 19, 2017 at Ashley Nursing Home.
Burial will be in Ashley Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Anetta M. Geiszler, daughter of August and Dorothea (Elhard) Geiszler was born September 2, 1927 at rural Gackle, ND. She attended country school for eight years then attended Gackle High School, graduating with the class of 1945. She moved to San Francisco and worked at Wells Fargo Bank as a bookkeeper and later moved to Lodi and worked at Bank of America as a bookkeeper.

Anetta was united in marriage to Otto Rasch on October 15, 1950 in St. James Lutheran Church, rural Gackle. They made their home in Merricourt, ND for ten years where she worked part-time in the post office. In 1961 they moved to Ashley. While living in Ashley, Anetta completed accredited Medical Technician Record correspondent courses and worked at Ashley Medical Center for 27 years as Medical Records Technician. She retired in 1990 and over the following two years she worked as a Medical Records Consultant.

Anetta had several hobbies with some of those being knitting, reading, walking, bowling and always enjoying square dancing.

Anetta was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active in women’s groups and committees. She was a member of AAL Branch 10788. She volunteered at the Ashley Nursing Home.

Grateful for having shared Anetta’s life are her husband of 66 years, Otto; nieces and nephews, Evangeline Ronstadt of Bethel Park, PA, Bernetta Guilhot of Cumming, GA, Melvin Ammon of Minneapolis, MN, Milton Ammon of Apple Valley, MN, Verna Wirrenga of Jamestown, Eugene Ammon of Santa Clara, CA, Larry Teske of Battle Mountain, NV, Harry Geiszler of Minnesota, Ronald Geiszler of Minnesota, Randy Geiszler of Fredonia, ND and Carol Geiszler of Ashley and several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding Anetta in death were her parents; sisters, Hulda Ammon, Ardina Teske and Alvina Ammon; brothers, Bernhard Geiszler, Milbert Geiszler and Wilhelm Geiszler and nephew, Vern Geiszler.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Nikki Scherr, Amber, Annie and Abby McConnell and John and James Ammon.

Casketbearers will be Davin Wirrenga, Dion Wirrenga, Don Wirrenga, Travis Geiszler, Terry J. Scherr and Larry Teske.
