father Glen Elwin ThomasJerry Elwin Thomas, loving husband, father, son, uncle, and grandfather passed away on February 8, 2019. Jerry was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 9, 1954. Jerry spent the early part of his childhood growing up in the small-town of Spring Lake, Utah, where he spent countless hours with loving cousins going swimming, camping, and ice skating. After his parent's divorce, he moved to Payson, Utah and graduated from Payson High School with the class of 1973.

Jerry studied at the University of Utah and later earned his electrical license through Utah Technical College. Jerry worked for nearly four decades as an electrician, with an emphasis in commercial construction.

In 1985, Jerry married the love of his life, Kathryn Janice McKell. They were later sealed in the Provo Temple.

Jerry spent many of his years as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of his best memories were serving in various capacities as a primary teacher. He was also actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America and helped in rearing two eagle scouts of his own.

Jerry enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, with some of his favorite destinations including Costa Rica, Belize, Canada, and Hawaii. He also enjoyed playing tennis, racquetball, golf, and even competed in swimming in the senior Olympics for several years.

Jerry spent the last eight years of his life battling the effects of Parkinson's disease. While this disease restricted him from being able to do many of the things he loved, he continued to enjoy traveling and was grateful for every moment he had to spend with family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathryn McKell Thomas, 6 children, Matthew (JaeJay) Thomas, Salt Lake City, Utah, Jesse (Amanda) Tyler (stepson), Bountiful, Utah, Zac (Shyla) Thomas, Richland, Washington, Christopher Tyler (stepson), Orem, Utah, Nathan (Jaya) Thomas, Payson, Utah, Neil (Ali) Thomas, Burleson, Texas, and 14 grandchildren whom he adored.
