The Lord in his infinite Love and Mercy took William Leo Edwards to his heavenly home, July 25, 2019. He fought a courageous battle with lung cancer. In his final days, William was able to rest at his beloved home on Lake Livingston with his wife Vera of 56 years.

William was born in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas on May 6, 1939 to Herschel Wellington Edwards and Eva Leonard Edwards. He was the 4th of 7 children. He was a man of integrity, was honest, hardworking and friendly to everyone he came across. He had a great work ethic, owned his own Metallurgical Testing Company. He loved to travel with his wife and while traveling he has seen all of Europe, Far East, Romania, South America, he has traveled all over the United States in their motor home. He was also a man of faith and loved reading God’s word.

William is survived by his wife Vera Flores Edwards of Onalaska, Texas, a brother, Charles Edwards of Huffman, Texas, his sister, Emma Janice Edwards of Hot Springs, Arkansas along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He leaves behind many friends and relatives who he loved and respected. They in turn will miss his friendship, honesty and that big beautiful smile that he had for the whole world. William graduated Valedictorian of his class. Served his country as a member of the Coast Guard for eight years. He owned his own business and enjoyed working and traveling.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Flores, Luis Flores, Alexander Flores, Ellis Flores, Alexander Torres, Charles Edwards, Otice Parker and Ray Smith with Neal Voytak and the Men’s Sunday School Class of Central Baptist Church in Livingston as honorary pallbearers.
