Tuesday morning this community was startled by the report of the sudden death of David W. Luddy of Brooklyn - at Coney Island, where he had gone with the repair wagon of the trolly line, after the storm of that afternoon. Mr. Luddy was on a pole forty-five feet in height and tripped on a stray wire. He was thrown over backward and struck the ground head first. He was being hurried to the hospital but died before it could be reached. The remains were brought to this village yesterday and the funeral will be held tomorrow from St. Patrick's church. A young wife, formerly Miss Irene Coyne of this village and twin daughters survive; also, his mother and three sisters, residents of this village, and four brothers.
