Billy Bangs, age 69, of Buffalo, Texas, passed away June 29, 2019 at his home in Buffalo.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo. Rev. Ray Grissett, pastor of the church, will officiate the service, and interment will be in North Creek Cemetery in rural Leon County. The Bangs family will receive friends Monday, July 1st from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo.

Billy Wayne Bangs was born December 21, 1949 in Paris, Texas, to parents, Randel & Evelyn (Coplin) Bangs. He served his country in the United States Air Force and worked as a loan officer in the banking industry. Billy was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the choir. He had lived in Buffalo for the past six years.

Billy was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister, Norma Young and brother, Bobby Bangs.

He is survived by wife, Rhonda Bangs of Buffalo; daughters, Stephanie Herring (Lance) of Columbus and Stacy Bangs of Franklin and grandchildren, Caleb, Ethan & Canaan Doyle and Carsyn, Camdyn & Cash Herring.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
