Helen Faith Melton, 95 of Paris, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Heritage House in Paris.
A graveside service has been set for Friday, April 28, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Evergreen Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Don Morton officiating.
Mrs. Melton was born the daughter of Luke and Ela Mae Hawkins Coplin on September 24, 1921 in Roxton, Texas. She attended Oklahoma Community School near Roxton. Helen married Tommy Melton in May 1975. He preceded her in death in 2001. She worked for Safeway stores for many years and retired in 1983. She was an active member of Ramseur Baptist Church for many years.
Helen is survived by her son, Joe Smyers and wife Taunyia; her grandchildren who were the love of her life, Dustin Smyers, Drew Smyers and wife Kacy, Priscilla Smyers, Terra Brown and husband Jason, Kimberly Porter and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Emery, Addison, Sam and Devin Smyers and Jordan, Jacob and Joshua Brown; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Coplin and Jenny Coplin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, Alrie Anderson, Evelyn Bangs; brothers, Jack Coplin, Jim Coplin and Jerry Coplin.
Her family was very special to her. The family wants to express a special Thank You to Dr. Ganguly and his staff, Heritage House, Platinum Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care and compassion, especially Rachel Wood and Tiffany Wilkerson.
