U.S. Veteran

Our Hero, Bobby J. Bangs, left this earth and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday October 18, 2014. He was at home, surrounded by family.

He will be remembered by all those that knew him for his dry sense of humor and for the one liner's that left everyone he met with a grin on their face.

He will be remembered by his family for his love and strength in leading each of us to always do the right thing and to do it right the first time.

B-Bob, as he has been known for the last 20 years or so, was born at home in Roxton, Texas to James Randel Bangs and Evelyn Coplin Bangs on October 5, 1940.

He grew up in Paris, Texas and attended Paris High School where he met the love of his life Mary Etta Enloe. Bobby married Mary on July 31, 1962 and celebrated 52 years of marriage earlier this year.

Bobby played baseball at Paris Junior College and earned his BBA from East Texas State University. Bobby and Mary spent most of their working years in the Houston area, moving back to Paris to retire and indulge in their Antique hobby in 1995.

B-Bob leaves behind his soul mate of 50+ years, Mary Etta Bangs of Paris, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Billy Wayne Bangs and wife Rhonda of Buffalo, Texas; son, Derek Bangs and wife Cathy of College Station, Texas; daughter Shelli McNutt and husband Joe of Kosse, Texas; five grandchildren, Kasey Bangs, Kristi Bangs, Trent McNutt, Marisa McNutt and JD McNutt; brother-in-law, George Young, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

B-Bob was preceded in death by his parents James Randel and Evelyn Bangs and his sister, Norma Young.

The family invites you to a Celebration of Life on Saturday October 25, 2014 at 12 noon, First Presbyterian Church, Paris, Texas. Brother Ken Cannon will officiate.
