The husband of Mary W. Shirk (1758-1841) and the father of Barbara Leathers (wife of Joseph Leathers). Jacob's great-grandson, noted lumberman Jacob Leathers Rumbarger (1836-1929)--son of Betsy Leathers, Barbara's daughter, and of John Rumbarger--was named for him. Jacob Leathers was my 5th great-grandfather.
