Charlotte Toll, 86, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in the Town of Lamartine on May 17, 1925, to Charles and Rose Bluemke Jacobitz.

Charlotte was educated at Rosendale Union Free High School, Green Lake County Normal School, and earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education at the Oshkosh State Teachers College, now the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Charlotte was a teacher in Fond du Lac County for 34 years, beginning her career in rural schools and retiring from Rosendale Elementary School in June 1989.

She was a member of teacher organizations at the national, state and local levels. She was also a member of the Fond du Lac Retired Educators Association.

She was a member of the Fond du Lac Senior Center, the Red Hat Society, and was a former member of Tops W909 of Fond du Lac.

Charlotte was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Rogersville, where she served as a superintendent and instructor in the Sunday school program, was a choir member, and was active in the Ladies Aid.

Most recently, Charlotte was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale where she was active in the ELCA women's group, was a former choir member, and also worked on the Altar Guild for a number of years.

Her enjoyments were working with her flowers, traveling, dancing, reading, attending Packers football games, but most of all, spending time with her family.

Charlotte married Donald W. Toll at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church on Sept. 2, 1950. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in September 2000.

Surviving are three children: Pamela (Charles) Tatro of Plymouth, Minn., Wendelyn (David) Nellessen of Fond du Lac, and Bradley (Sandra) Toll of Green Bay;her grandchildren: Bill (Lisa) Sylvester of Pepperell, Mass., Angela Sylvester of Minneapolis, Minn., Heidi (Jay) Rickmeyer of Germantown, and Heather Nellessen of Fond du Lac; her great-grandchildren: Rebekah and Isabel Sylvester of Pepperell, Mass.; and her loving, little dachshund, Obie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2006; and a brother.

SERVICES: The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept.6, 2011, at Peace Lutheran Church, 124 S. Main St. in Rosendale. The Rev. Charles Thompson will officiate.

Burial will be at the Rosendale Cemetery.

VISITATION:The visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.
