Merle Arnold Covington, a resident of Baywood, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at her daughter's home in Baywood. She was 82 and a native of Port Allen.
She is survived by a daughter, Johnell C. Bongiovanni; two sons, John R. Covington and Samuel F. Covington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge John S. Covington.
