Paul G. Fuchs, 82, of Ladysmith, died on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Paul was born on March 3, 1931, in Catawba, Wisconsin; a son of George and Esther (Droese) Fuchs.

He married Donna Mae Campbell on June 10, 1950, in Catawba.

Paul loved life.

He came to Rusk County in 1961. He farmed in Catawba before coming to Ladysmith.

He worked at the paper mill in Ladysmith, Lamperts in Ladysmith and Rite Way in Ladysmith.

Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching little league, umpiring softball games, get-togethers with family and friends, going to the casino and watching the grandchildren at sports events. As everyone knew, his grandchildren were always the star of whatever sport they were in at the time. He also enjoyed playing with the grandchildren, talking with his children’s friends no matter where he would run into them and visiting with the neighbors.

When he was younger, he raked cranberries for extra money for the family.

He was a very caring and loving husband and father. He was very proud of all of his family, and boasted about being married for 63 years.

Paul is survived by his wife Donna; his sons Mike (Jackie) Fuchs, Mick (Lori) Fuchs and Paul II (Sherri) Fuchs; his daughters Paulette Millin, Bev (Bill) Loser, Jaci (Dave) Gabrovic and Kim (Mike) Hauser; his grandchildren Stephen Millin, Matthew and Kelli Loser, Marshal and Kelly Loser, Kristi Fuchs, Erik and Ashley Gabrovic, David Gabrovic II, Mandy and Mitch Colby, and Melissa, Michelle, Samual, and Patrick Fuchs; his great-grandchildren Kylee, Karter, Kelsey, and Kortney Millin, and Acoya Chavez, and Abigail Loser; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special brother-in-law and his wife: Jim (Camella) Campbell.
He is also survived by his nine sisters and brothers: Florence Kosterman of Phillips, Clara Blaskowski of Hawkins, Marge Nierode of Port Washington, Mildred (Charlie) Cicha of Tony, Arlene Arquette of Catawba, Lorraine Hause of Bloomer, Betty (Howard) Otto of Kennan, George (Jean) Fox of Racine and Clarence Fox of Mukwonago; and his sisters-in-law Rosalee (Schatsie) Fuchs of Boulder Junction and Virginia Fuchs of Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Dorothy Lallemont and Martha Bauer; and his brothers Bob, Bill and Don.

A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 13, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Deacon Doug Sorenson officiating.

The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
