Fred was the son of Frederick E. Klett Sr. and Grace C. Papa. He married Florence A. Fish on 12 Aug. 1950 in Elizabeth, Union Co., NJ. He served in the U.S. Army in France during the Korean War. He was a personnel director for various departments/institutions of New Jersey state government. He was also a licensed realtor (with his own agency), a real estate and insurance agent, and worked as a sales representative for various companies as a young man and in his later years.

The following was extracted from his obituary (written by family):

Mr. Klett was dedicated to the betterment of the communities in which he lived. He served on the Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education and the Hopewell Borough Zoning Board of Adjustment. He sponsored and coached Little League teams and was a Boy Scout leader. He was a member of Hopewell Post 339 of the American Legion, the Lions International, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the Hopewell Fire Department and other local groups.

Most of all, he was devoted to his family and friends, who will sorely miss his sense of duty, commitment to family and sense of humor.
