Flossie was the daughter of Theodore K. Fish and Clara M. Pierson. She married Frederick E. Klett Jr. on 12 Aug. 1950 in Elizabeth, Union Co., NJ.

The following obituary was written for the Hopewell Valley News, Hopewell, NJ, newspaper by family:

Hopewell – Florence Adele “Flossie” Klett (née Fish), 86, died December 7, 2014, in Abington, Pa. She was the widow of Frederick E. Klett Jr. and daughter of Theodore Kilner and Clara Mae (Pierson) Fish. Born Jan. 6, 1928, in Trenton, she was raised in Roselle Park with her two older sisters, whom she adored. After high school, she attended Berkeley Business School in New York City. She worked for different importers in New York before her marriage in 1950.

During the Korean War, Flossie and husband Fred (then serving in the U.S. Army) were stationed in La Rochelle, France. This was an exciting time in Flossie’s life and she told many stories of her voyages and experiences. Her first child was born overseas; three more sons and a daughter would follow later. The family lived in Fanwood and Berkeley Heights before relocating to Hopewell in 1964. Flossie’s parents resided with them here until their deaths. Following her husband’s death in 2007, Flossie moved to Pennington and, more recently, to Huntingdon Valley, Pa., to live with son Fred.

She was a licensed realtor and co-owner of Hall & Klett Realty, and worked at the election polls for many years. She was also an active volunteer—in the Hopewell Fire Department and American Legion ladies’ auxiliaries, and in the Hopewell Chapter of Deborah Hospital. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed league bowling, music, discussing politics and popular culture, puzzles and games, and catching up with friends and family.

The last few years of Flossie’s life were an unexpected and cherished gift to her family. During this time, she had wonderful fellowship with those around her. When she was 83, she joined the Rock of Israel Presbyterian Church and decided to be baptized. The ceremony was performed by her son Fred. She lived to see two grandchildren married this year, and made a courageous journey to Michigan for the wedding of namesake granddaughter Susannah Adele in July. She was the affectionate and devoted matriarch of a loving clan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Flossie was preceded in death by sister Margaret Newman, two brothers-in-law, and recently her sister-in-law Grace Klett Lurcott. She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn M., Pennington, and four sons and their families: Rev. Frederick E. (Barbara Jean), Huntingdon Valley, and children Nathan, Simkha and Nicole "August," all of Portland, Ore.; Theodore M. (Roxanne L.), Hopewell, and daughters Aña of Boston, Mass., and Adelena of Norfolk, Va.; Rev. Kenneth E. (Laurie A.), Hamilton, Mich., and children Faith of Mishawaka, Ind., Leah Hutcherson and Susannah Jacobs, both of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Abigail, Kenneth, Jonathan and Nathaniel, at home; Joseph R., Hopewell, and sons Alexander and James of Princeton.

Also surviving are beloved sister Barbara Jefferson of Tinton Falls; brother-in-law Roy E. Lurcott of Boca Raton, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; several cousins, including James H. and Richard D. Hall of Hopewell; and honorary family members Melanie and Joshua Chew of Moorestown, Stephen Johnsen of Crosswicks, and Kimberly N. Klett of Princeton.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 6-8 p.m., at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Rd., Pennington. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 80 West Broad St., Hopewell. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Flossie's memory to Christine's Hope for Kids (www.christineshope.org) or an organization of the donor's choice.
