A WICHITAN 50 YEARS
Peter A. Combs, 81, Retired Brickmason, Passes Here Saturday
Peter A. Combs, 81, 1308 East Central, a retired brickmason, died yesterday. Born in Posey county, Missouri, he came here 50 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Melvina; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Williams, 2314 North Volutsia, Mrs. Florence Merchant, 840 East Murdock, and Mrs. Carrie White, 1310 East Central; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Waymyer, 2226 North Market and three brothers, Jess, Doley and Marion Combs, all of Kaw City, Okla. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Gill mortuary.

COOMBS -- Services for Peter A. Coombs, age 81, 1308 E. Central, will be conducted from the Gill mortuary chapel at 10:30 Tuesday morning. Rev. Floyd W. Guess officiating.
His mother was Kesiah Luann (Lancaster) Combs born 20 Jan 1840 in Illinois, died 11 Feb 1910 in Kaw City, Kay, Oklahoma. She and husband Peter were buried in the old Oakgrove Cemetery near Kaw City. In the late 1960s Kaw Lake was built and covered the cemetery. Years later bodies were discovered after washing ashore and they were relocated in the new Oakgrove Cemetery outside Ponca City. It's assumed Peter and Kesiah were among them.
