Rebecca “Becky” DelReal, 73, Colorado City, passed away at the Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Big Spring on August 19, 1945 to Henry Russell and Velta Inez Poston Bird.

Becky was known to the people in the area as Becky the Nail Lady, and many in the area were a recipient of some of the beautiful works of art that she created on their nails.

Becky was a very spirited woman, full of spunk, with a bubbly happy personality.

She was a long standing member of Christian Fellowship Church and had a very strong faith in God.

She loved to talk to people, but if you said something that wasn’t right you would see her feisty side because she was strong in her convictions and knew how to stand her ground. She was also a woman with love to spare, not only did she spend time raising her own children, she also took in many cousins, and friends.

In her spare time Becky enjoyed going out to visit friends, talking to people on the phone, and painting pictures.

Becky is survived by her sons David Blauvelt and wife Joy of Midland and Doug Blauvelt of Big Spring, by her grandchildren Lecy Hobbs and Laura Chaney, and by several step-children and step-grandchildren, as well as by a brother Bill Bird and wife Ann of San Angelo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband John DelReal, by her brothers Henry Russell Bird Jr and Donald Butch Bird, and by her sisters Betty Messemer and Joy Thompson.

A funeral service for Becky will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at 10 am at Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Larry Chaney officiating, burial will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation at Kiker Seale Funeral Home on Monday, May 27th from 5-7 pm.

In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions in Becky’s name to wtcmhmr.org or make checks payable to West Texas Centers and mail to West Texas Centers 409 Runnels, Big Spring Tx 79720. Please indicate in Memory of Rebecca Del Real. Designate the donation to go to the IDD Division.
