Mollie was born in Maynard, Randolph, Arkansas, where she grew up. When Mollie was 15, she moved with her family to Bryantine, Hardin, New Mexico. We visited with one of her cousins who was still living in Arkansas, in 1968 talking about family history. She said the last time she saw Mollie, she was sitting on the back of the wagon, with her legs dangling, waving goodbye and saying "I'm going to New Mexico to find a man to marry!!!"
A little over a year later, Mollie married her sweety John, who was also homesteading in Bryantine. They were married on 28 August 1907, in Tucumcari, Quay County, New Mexico in a double wedding with John's sister Lillie and her husband Willie Weeks.
Mollie was only forty-one when she became sick with peritonitis and died.
