Final rites were held Tuesday afternoon, January 27th at Nevada City for the late Edward Daniel Mugford, who died in that city last Saturday night, January 24th. Mugford was a native of Amador county and was aged seventy-six year at his death. He had been residing in Alleghany, Sierra county, for the past fifteen years.
Rev. David Ralston of the Methodist Church officiated at the funeral services. Burial took place in the Pine Grove cemetery.
Mugford leaves his widow, Mrs. E. D. Mugford of Los Angeles; two sons, Edward Mugford of Los Angeles and Thomas Mugford of Nevada City; a brother, Thomas Mugford of Sacramento, and four sisters, Mrs. Jack Stevens of Grass Valley, Mrs. Louis Cassell of Sutter Creek, Mrs. Al Witte of Sacramento and Mrs. Elizabeth Weiger of Los Angeles."
