She was born on March 26, 1932 in Randolph County, to the late John and Nettie Freeman Bame.
A resident of this area all her life, she retired from Common Wealth Hosiery Mill in Randleman, after 30 plus years of service. Wilma enjoyed the outdoors; whether she was fishing or working in her garden. She loved her animals; especially her cat, Precious and her dog, Sadie Mae. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, aunt and friend, and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Theodore and Henry Bame, and 2 sisters, Edna Bame and Frances Connor.
She is survived by her daughter, Nettie Bame McPherson and her husband, Lynn “Peanut” McPherson, a special niece Linda Joyce and her husband, Marty. Also surviving are nephews and several more nieces.
A service to celebrate Wilma’s life will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 28, at 3 o’clock in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Bishop Jason Bowser officiating. Interment will follow in Marlboro Friends Meeting Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Saturday evening, April 27, from 5 until 7, at the funeral home.
