Charles “Charlie” Bain, age 81, of Reliance, departed this life on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his home.

Born on February 9, 1938 to the late Rich and Ora Blackwell Bain, he was a native and lifelong resident of Polk County and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where he taught Adult Sunday School for several years. He was an avid Braves fan and enjoyed woodworking, farming, fishing, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Willie Mae Freeman and Dorothy Lowe; brother, Jack Bain as well as two infant brothers.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Tina Orr Bain; children, Danny(Donna) Bain of Tennga, Georgia, Dottie Prock of Englewood, and Brad(Karen) Bain of Etowah; grandchildren, Ashley(Josh) Patterson, Bryan(Brittany)Bain, Alex Prock, Marrisa (Matt) Hall, Creed Bain, and Abby Bain; great-grandchildren, Owen and Layla Patterson, Landon and Lauren Bain, and Brieden and Georgia Hall; siblings, Evelyn(Kent) Sharpton, Carson Bain, Bill(Evelyn) Bain, Paulette Lewis, Ruth Rymer, Joe(Faye) Bain; and a sister–in-law, Becky Bain. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for Charles N. Bain will be held at 7p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 from the chapel of Serenity of Etowah Funeral Home with Brother Pete Morgan, Brother Lee Ingram, and Brother Benny Watson officiating. The family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Morgan Cemetery for the committal service. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m on Friday at Serenity of Etowah Funeral Home prior to the service.
