Mary Ruth Rymer, 95, of Cleveland, departed this life peacefully on January 25, 2024, at a local healthcare facility, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 14, 1928, in Springtown, TN, to the late Richard and Ora Blackwell Bain.

Throughout life, Mary enjoyed reading, quilting, and being outdoors. She and her husband were charter members of Springtown Community Support Firehall #4. She was a dedicated volunteer, volunteering in numerous capacities with multiple organizations.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Rymer; daughter, Shelia Cross; siblings, Jack Bain, Bill Bain, Charlie Bain, Dorothy Lowe, and Willie Mae Freeman.

Left to cherish the many memories include her loving children, Mary Jane Hornbuckle, Joe (Pat) Rymer, Jim (Blonnie) Rymer, and Karen (Frank) Love; siblings, Evelyn (Kent) Sharpton, Carson Bain, Joe (Faye) Bain, and Paulette (Jerry) Lewis; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Lee Ingram and Pastor Benny Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery with her family serving as pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
