John E. Harding Jr., 92, of East Peoria died at 8:58 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Farmington Country Manor. He was born on April 9, 1927 in Peoria to John E. and Sara (Cox) Harding Sr. He married Imogene Mitchell on August 10, 1946 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2016. Surviving are his children Steve Harding of Minneapolis, MN, John Harding III of Thailand, Patricia (Rick) Spiegel of East Peoria, and Kelli Hediger of Peoria; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 sister Leona Brinkman. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters. John worked at Sequoia Supply as a truck driver for over 32 years. He reited in 1984 from O’Neils in Peoria after 6 years of work. He worked part-time in maintenance at B'Nai B'Rith for 8 years. John was a member of the Hilton Masonic Lodge 1143, serving as Past Master twice. He was a life member of the East Peoria VFW Post 2078. A graveside service for John will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 1 PM at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria with Masonic and Military Rites.
