PEKIN -- Sarah Ellen Dixon , 80, of 11479 Wagonseller Road died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997, at her home.

Born Jan. 19, 1917, in Peoria to John Sr. and Sarah Cox Harding , she married Ted Dixon Jr. on Oct. 9, 1948, in Williamsville. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ted Lee Dixon of Pekin; one brother, John Harding Jr. of East Peoria; and three sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Lillian) Mathis of Morton, Mrs. Pete (Nancy) Argo of East Peoria and Mrs. Bill (Leona) Brinkman of Tacoma, Wash. Two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a clerk in the jewelry department at Bergner's in Pekin for 10 years, retiring in 1989. She was former manager of Pekin Downtown Car Wash for six years.

She formerly attended West Bluff Christian Church in West Peoria.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Robert N. Brite Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.
