Mr. A. B. Brantley was born on May 28, 1932, in Lamar County. He was the Fourth oldest child born to the parentage of Ms. Iola Brantley. A. B. was educated in Lamar County. The school he attended was built directly in front of his home on McCollum Road. He confessed at an early age and joined the Sardis Missionary Baptist Church. He attended faithfully, until his health began to decline.

A.B. learned at a younger age to become a good farmer. He could work the fields with the best of them. A.B. could drive tractors, and he loved to talk, most of all. He shared his talents and wisdom with anyone and earned a well-deserved title,

"The BBQ Man." He was one of the best in the state.

Early on Saturday morning, September 8, 2018, he traded his BBQ pit for as set of angel wings. A.B., is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Bessie, and they shared 60 years together. He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Mr. Donny (Catherine) Brantley of Atlanta, Minister Anthony (Annice) Brantley of Griffin, and Mr. Norman Brantley of Barnesville; grandchildren, Shawn Brantley of Forsyth, Daniel Brantley, and other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Tyshon Brantley, Summer Brantley, Maliyah Banks, and Katie Brantley; sisters, Ms. Mattie Few, Ms. Dorothy Edge, Mrs. Diane(Hope) Holt, all of Barnesville, and Mary (James) Daniel of Riverdale; A.B.'s big brother, Mr. N.E., a.k.a.
