Franklin D. "Frank" Francis, 83, of Independence, MO, died Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. He was born August 16, 1935, in West Plains, MO, he was the son of the late Franklin Francis and Berta (Huddleston) Francis.
Frank served in the U.S. Navy.
On April 15, 1966, he married Ellen Spoor. She survives of the home.
He lived in Independence most of his life and retired from Sears after 42 years of service.
He was a member of Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by his children, Jeff Francis of Blue Springs, MO; and Donna Francis of Independence, MO; three grandchildren, Caleb, Chandler and Rebekah Francis; one sister, Thelma Russell; and several nieces and nephews (who knew him as Pete).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kim Francis; four brothers, Floyd, J.R., R.C., and Duane; and five sisters, Freda, Charlene, Modena, Evelyn, and Wanda.
Funeral services will be April 10, 2019, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, MO with visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at Old Lamine Cemetery in Cooper County, MO.
