Letha Fern (McMillen) Myers, age 98, of Baldwin City, Kansas, passed away March 25, 2019 at Vintage Park Assisted Living, Baldwin City, KS. She was born November 12, 1920 in rural Douglas County, Kansas, the daughter of Jack McMillen and Bertha (Lawson) McMillen.

Letha was a homemaker and opened her heart and home to foster children along the way. She loved the farm life, especially gardening and canning. She was renowned for her elephant garlic and making canned garlic okra. While at Vintage Park she enjoyed painting and playing B.I.N.G.O. with her friend, Archie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Dale, Chet, Don, and Carl; three husbands, Eloy G. Fischer, Tipton, KS, Wayne “Bud” McNeal, Iowa, and Daniel F. Myers, Denning, Arkansas; two sons, Robert W. Fischer and Edmund E. Fischer; and a daughter, Donna Marie Riso.

Letha is survived by two sons, Jack D. and Gary A. (Peggy); eight grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday April 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Vintage Park Assisted Living, 321 Crimson Ave, Baldwin City, KS. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.

She will be missed by family and friends at Vintage Park Assisted Living. The family would like to thank the Vintage Park staff for their excellent care and for treating Letha like a Queen the last ten years. A special thank you to Shelley, Karla, Deb, Stephanie, Judy, Lisa, Alice, and Amy, the family couldn’t have done this without you! The family would also like to thank Great Lakes Hospice for their compassion and respect for Letha.
