Eloise was born May 21, 1922, in Bellaire, the daughter of the late Emlyn and Sarah Montgomery Hepburn.

Eloise married William R. Shields on Aug. 22, 1943. They were blessed with 58 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on June 3, 2002.

In 1950, Bill and Eloise moved to Windham. Eloise was a member of the Windham and Demascus United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was one of the original members of the Singing Grannies. Eloise was a poll worker for Portage County and was involved with 4-H in Windham.

She enjoyed sewing, so much so that in the early 1990s, she started a seamstress shop with her daughter, Andrea. Eloise also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, singing and playing the piano. She taught her daughters at a very young age to embroider.

Loving memories of Eloise will be carried on by her daughters, Andrea (Lloyd) Billman of Castalia, Iowa, and Lynn (Dixon) Hepburn of Starke, Florida; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
