Rites Held for Mrs. Eddie Tillman Monday in Galva
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Eddie Tillman, 87 Monday at the Johnson and Gill Chapel. Interment was in the Bishop Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Tillman passed away at 2:15pm Thursday 1 May 1958 at Kewanee Public Hospital where she was admitted as patient Wednesday morning.
One of nine children of John and Anna Lind, she was born in Sweden 26 January 1877. At the age of three she came with her parents where she attended school. She was married to Edward Tillman 14 Oct 1896 in the John Lind home in Galva. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1946. They lived on a farm in Galva township for 11 years but for the past 48 years have lived at their present farm in Weller Township.
She was confirmed in the Messiah Lutheran Church in Galva.
Surviving are her husband, Eddie of Bishop Hill; two daughters, Mrs. James H. (Edna) Kelly of Bishop Hill and Mrs. Russell (Irene) Rayl, of San Francisco, California; two sons Floyd of Kewanee and Vernon of Bishop Hill; one grandchild: three great grandchildren; one sister Miss Hanna Lind of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Amel of Galva and Alben of Hot Springs, South Dakota; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
