Grace L. (Martz) Hill
Enjoyed holiday family time, carnivals, the fair
Grace L. (Martz) Hill, 84, of Orangeville passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at The Gardens at Orangeville where she resided.
Born in Orangeville, on Dec. 8, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Clarence L. and Catherine (Slusser) Martz. She was educated in a one-room schoolhouse and worked at Baer Silk Mill and West Poultry Farm.
Grace liked to play bingo, as well as going to carnivals and the Bloomsburg Fair. She enjoyed being a snowbird with her husband of 54 years. She was very giving to others who were in need of clothing, food, or shelter. She adored her family and took great joy in spending time with them especially on her favorite holiday, Christmas. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She definitely was Amazing Grace!
She will be greatly missed by her children: Butch Laubach and wife Lori, Mifflinville; Catherine Shultz, Bloomsburg; Sheila Zimmerman and husband Randall, Millville; James Hill and wife Deborah, Nescopeck; Cindy Shultz, Mifflinville; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred R. Hill, in 2010; brothers: Samuel, Lafayette, John, Samuel, Myron, and Donald Martz; sisters: Lovilla Hartzell, Viola Wildesmith, Elizabeth Humes, Edith Diemer; and son-in-law, Carl Shultz. She was the last surviving member of her family.
A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Ebenezer Cemetery, Orangeville, with Chaplain Michael Delp officiating.
