Roger Frank Barnett was born on November 7, 1941 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Frank Stafford and Florence G. (Goodknight) Barnett. He passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He attended Victory Consolidated 11 and later transferred to Frederick High School where he was president of F.F.A. He graduated in 1959. He furthered his education at Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture in 1963. Roger served in the Army Reserve.

In 1971, he was united in marriage to Inda Elise (James) in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2001. Later on February 3, 2003, he married Annita S. (Hensley) Stephens in Frederick, Oklahoma. Roger taught Man Power Trade School in Frederick for two years. He farmed and ranched in Tillman County from 1963 until 1986 when he retired.

He became employed at Schlegel in 1983 and retired in 2008 with 25 years of service. He later started working the Tillman County Assessors Office and retired in 2014. Roger was a member of the Masonic Lodge #249 and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was past president of the Frederick Riding Club. He loved welding and working with Marc. He enjoyed going out to dinner, but he would never eat chicken because they were yard birds. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frederick.

He is survived by his wife Annita Barnett of the home; one son, Marc Barnett and his wife Kristy of Frederick, Oklahoma; Step-Children, Kevin Vance of Binger, Oklahoma, Josh Stephens and his wife Karla of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, Adam Stephens of Moore, Oklahoma and Katie Ramirez and husband Gam of Newcastle, Oklahoma; three brothers, James Barnett and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, David Barnett and wife Kay of Frederick, Oklahoma and Stanley and wife JoEllen of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one sister, Wilma Jean Sykes and husband D.L. of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren; Zach Ramirez, Drew Ramirez, Tyler Stephens, Garrett Stephens, Kinzer Barnett, Kole Barnett, Natalie Stephens, Lincoln Ramirez, Ethan Stephens and Kaisley Barnett; and a host of nieces, nephews and many cousins.

He was preceded by his parents, Frank and Florence Barnett; his first wife, Elise Barnett; and one sister, Janet Nicks.

Funeral service will be at 10am, Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Frederick with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.
