Mrs. Durell Jacobs Royster, age 89, of Martin died Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Weakley County Nursing and Rehab Center in Dresden.

Funeral service will be Monday, January 9, 2023, 1:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Walker and Bro. Keith Sumner officiating. Visitation will be Monday beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home until service time at 1:00. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.

Mrs. Royster was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Royster; her parents, Jodie Jacobs and Myrtle Keathley Jacobs; three sisters, Modean Collier, Joy Stephens and Monette Turner; three brothers, J.B. Jacobs, Floyd Jacobs and Billie Wayne Jacobs.

She was a retired secretary for The University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a faithful member of Bible Union Baptist Church in Martin.

Mrs. Royster is survived by her daughters, Pam (Tommie) Lemons of Martin and Tammy (Les) Wright of Memphis, TN; her sister, Sarah Hazlewood of Martin; her nephew, Mike Royster of Martin; four grandchildren, Will Lemons, Bart Lemons, Jared wright and Joshua Wright; four great-grandchildren, Kaleb Worrell, Brady Lemons, Price Lemons and Greyson Lemons.
