Sarah Beaver Perkins
Daughter of Henry Beaver and his first wife (Elizabeth) Annie Sellers (m. 31 Jul 1815 Butler Ohio) was born around Germantown, Fall Creek Township Hamilton County Indiana around 1831. Her Mother, Annie Sellers died in 1838 and Henry was appointed guardian over his remaining three minor children, Sarah, Moses and William H. Henry remarried in 1838 to Mrs. Anna (Branham) Sloan, a widow of Hamilton county. The 1850 Census listed Henry and Anna with six children of their own ranging in age from 1 to 10 years. Also, in the household were sons Moses and William from the first marriage, and his stepchildren, James and Nancy Sloan. Sarah was not listed in household of Henry, but there was a Sarah Beaver age 18 listed on the 1850 Census for Fall Creek Township Hamilton County in the household of Thomas Lednum age 30 and his wife Malinda age 28, they had four boys under the age of 7 and perhaps Sarah was helping with the children.
Sarah married Thomas Newton Perkins (Son of Isaac Sellers Perkins and Margaret Emery) in Noblesville on 20 Oct 1851. Joseph Emry was a witness. He was the husband of Lydia Beaver daughter of Henry R Beaver (1798-1852). Henry R (1798-1852) was son of Johann George Benjamin (1773-1835). Johann George Benjamin and Sarah’s Father Henry (1796-1874) were brothers. Joseph Emery was the son of Charles Emery (1801-1869) who was a brother of Margaret Emery Perkins (1798-1860), Thomas Newton’s mother. So, Joseph was a first cousin to Thomas Newton and his wife Lydia was a second cousin to Sarah Beaver.
