Bio

My ancestors started coming to Marion County Indiana in the 1820's. They settled in Lawrence and Warren Townships and we are still here today. I grew up knowing both my maternal and paternal grandparents and great grandparents. I formally started researching my ancestors when I discovered boxes of records and pictures in my Mother's home. She is one of the few remaining members of her generation and over time, has amassed a large collection of family records from her family as well as my father's. These records include Land Patents in Lawrence and Warren Townships, Marion County Indiana with names of McConnell, Urbain, Day, Emery, Perkins, Harbert and Askren. Fortunately my ancestors felt it was important to keep family records of births, marriages, and deaths. Most of the pictures were labeled, but we didn't always know who they were. So I started a genealogy project to organize information she already had and to fill in the blanks. This website is an awesome resource.
