MYRTLE J. VANDERHOOF
Myrtle Jane (Bailey) Vanderhoof, 85, of 2410 E. 13th Street, died of complications of a stroke Friday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Mrs. Vanderhoof was born in Red Oak on May 21, 1903 to George Andrew Bailey and Emma Adelaide Rush, and had lived in Des Moines for 65 years. She retired as a sales clerk for Yonkers Department Store and was a member of Union Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Franklin of Afton; two sisters, Frances Day of Moore, Oklahoma and Georgia Vanderhoof of Aurora, Missouri; a brother Donald Bailey of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home.
