Following A Fall

Charles A. Lambert, 84, a resident of the Pretty Prairie community since he was a boy, died in the Donley hospital early Tuesday morning, March 6.

Mr. Lambert was injured in a fall Friday, in which he received a broken hip and other injuries. He became unconscious Saturday and was brought to the hospital.

Funeral services were held in the Pretty Prairie Presbyterian church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. John Haupt and Rev. Leonard Knox. Burial was in the Lone Star cemetery. The Livingston mortuary was in charge.

Mr. Lambert was born at Montrose, Iowa, April 11, 1871, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Lambert. The family came to southern Reno county just north of Kingman in 1884 and except for a time when he lived in Hutchinson, Mr. Lambert had lived in that area since.

He was married to Alice Hemphill of Pretty Prairie March 7, 1900. They farmed until they moved to Hutchinson in 1946, but returned to the farm early in 1954. Mrs. Lambert died Dec. 11, 1954.
